CS2 pro settings explained

Why most CS2 pros use stretched 4:3

Stretched 4:3 resolution makes player models appear wider, increasing the hitbox target size. At 1280x960 or 1024x768, models are approximately 20-25% wider than native 16:9. For AWPers like m0NESY and ZywOo, the larger target reduces the precision requirement for snap shots.

eDPI — the number that actually matters

In-game sensitivity varies between games. eDPI (DPI × in-game sens) is the normalized metric. 400 DPI × 2.0 sens = 800 eDPI, identical to 800 DPI × 1.0 sens. Most CS2 pros sit between 640-900 eDPI. Lower eDPI reduces over-flick errors; higher eDPI enables faster reflex tracking.

Launch options that reduce input latency

-noforcemaccel disables OS-level mouse acceleration regardless of Windows settings. +fps_max 400 or similar caps framerates to reduce GPU scheduling variance, which creates more consistent frame delivery and lower perceived input lag on high-refresh monitors.
